What is the UniverSoul Circus about?

That’s what I was wondering, “What is the UniverSoul Circus about?” Well, I recently had a wonderful opportunity to see the show here in San Diego, CA. I went with a friend and my 17-year-old son. We really enjoyed this show! What an AMAZINGLY great time we all had!

My son is the typical teenage boy when it comes to talking with his mom now and he’s definitely not one that shows much excitement about anything around me but, I could see his movements of enjoying the music and just some of the awesome performances. He loves Asian culture. I could tell that he was really into those performances.

This was UniverSoul Circus’s 1^st time coming to San Diego and they’ve been doing this for 19 years now! I am really hoping they come back next year for their 20^th anniversary celebration. Those of us that had a chance to see them this time will surely tell more people now that we have experienced it. There’s no way people should miss it in the future.

The funny thing is, I have never really liked circuses. I took my children a few times when they were little but, only because I felt like I needed to do it for them. Once they seemed as though they didn’t have an interest, we stopped going. Had it not been for my friend Makena Hayes-Gargonnu being hand-picked to promote the event here, I would not have known about it, cause it surely didn’t get any press that I saw. Since it was truly a “Soulful” circus, it was so very entertaining!

What do I mean by Soulful? There was a bit of gospel music played with the intention of touching the souls of the audience. There was a team of youngsters with smiley face T-shirts “ : ) “ that danced around to lift everyone up and make them happy. The beautiful colors and costumes of the performers showed a representation of various cultures. As an African-American, this was a unique and beautiful experience to see so many people of color in a “circus”!

I didn’t film the magic but it surely was mind-blowing to see the ladies turned into a tiger right before our eyes! The video I created hopefully will encourage others to check this unique show out. How to network market, you wonder? My personal
thought in 3 words…

1. ACTION
2. CONSISTENCY
3. TENACITY

Let me take you back just a bit … OK, WAY back! Lol! Early in my childhood I realized I loved being able to provide something that people wanted or needed. It made me feel good to know I could be a positive contribution to society by helping others.

When I was about 8 years old, I found a bunch of nails in the street and thought, “These nails look to be in pretty good condition. Someone should be able to use them instead of just leaving them wasted here on the ground.” I went and knocked on a couple of doors trying to sell them for a nickel a piece (I didn’t realize how expensive that really was then – and now!). I remember this lady must have thought, “How cute.” She bought 5 from me and I was happy she wanted them and I made a quarter! Off to the penny candy store!

Fast forwarding to today, I started my video and internet business, 9to5Not Business Solutions in 2010 after being laid off from selling cars. When I did this, I had NO intention of getting involved with any “network marketing” businesses… EVER again. I was tired of getting involved in “those” businesses and not succeeding.

Now if I’m being honest, I can’t even say that the companies failed me. I lacked doing what I needed to do to succeed AND I was never vested as I should have been to begin with. Even though I thought I was but there always seemed to be a “back door” that I was able to quietly make my exit when I’d had enough.

Towards the end of 2012, a social media friend, Bernard Shelley, came to San Diego and wanted to say “Hello” in person. He had his friend, Steve, the owner of a private vacation membership club, to bring him out to meet me and this was a life changing moment. I didn’t see it coming at all. While we’re all having our meeting, I’m sharing what I do with my current business but, Bernard’s friend was persistent and very confident that I needed to be a part of this business. He really felt like I should “add this to my plate”.

The next day I received a text from the Steve requesting that I listen to the webinar being hosted by the awesome J.J. Conway. Once I listened, it did make sense and I was excited.

Now here’s what made a difference for me. Once J.J. saw MY services, he had a need for the things that I was doing. So BonVoyage Elite turned into a client as I became a member and Independent Business Owner (IBO)!

I eventually began hosting webinars for the company. All of this has put me front and center where I couldn’t slip out of that old familiar ‘back door’! I had to work this.

If you’re wondering how to network market in this ever growing network marketing world, find something you will enjoy and that forces you to TAKE ACTION.

Be CONSISTENT in promoting it. Even just taking small action steps daily until you build up to “your” comfort level in doing more.

Be TENACIOUS with it. Don’t give up. Those small steps you have taken were seeds planted. You must stick around to take care of what you’ve started. I can see this so much more clearly now.

I am very grateful for this opportunity and the people that saw something in me to put me on this path. I’m watching my business grow, moved into the international world, gaining more and more understanding for how powerful of a positive impact this is having on others, and the company believes in me. That’s a great reward.

“Ms. Tracy Allen introduces the “What Do YOU Do?” show … again? The show about who, what, where, and why  amazing entrepreneurs do what they do.

Sometimes people ask you to do something and you get inspired to do it for them but, soon learn that it’s really for you. Have you experienced that?

I just learned about this amazing woman named Marie Forleo, who has been featured by Oprah as a thought leader for the next generation. Her focus is to help others to create a business and life you love. So I started following her video series.

Last week, she asked everyone to make a video about who we are, what we do, and why we do it. The above video is what I sent to Marie. Although she asked us to do it and send it to her, while I was making it, I realized that she is making my own visions come back to life. It’s almost like a vision board … when creating a video, we actually can become our own vision board. Does that make sense?

I am Tracy Allen… “Ms. Tracy Allen” Founder/Owner of 9to5Not Business Solutions. I enjoy creating videos, networking, online marketing, traveling, and hula hooping!

In the video, I am sharing a passion that I have regarding hula-hooping becoming my next fun business. I’m ready to bring back old school “recess” … take a break from work, come outside and play with your friends, while moving your body to things we did as children. I want to be mobile with this fun.

Currently, 9to5Not Business Solutions manages social media, create videos, voiceovers, provide online marketing tools, and sell memberships to a private travel club called BonVoyage Elite.

MY HISTORY

When I look back at my life, I realize that since I was a little girl, I’ve enjoyed the idea of advertising and marketing from watching Darrin Stevens of Bewitched. Even though I saw that it was at times stressful coming up with unique and catchy slogans, it was very interesting to me. Even to this day, I enjoy some of the crazy commercials that I see!

In high school, I took visual communications and then in my senior year, I went to a second high school for half of the day for commercial art. I was good at drawing and was always very creative. So learning this stuff was all fun but, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make a career out of doing things I enjoyed for entertainment as a career.

Having lived in Pittsburgh, PA, all of my life, I was ready to venture out and see the world. I thought being a flight attendant would be the way to go but, the jobs just didn’t come fast enough after graduating from Southeastern Academy in Kissimmee, FL, so I joined the navy and did some traveling that way!

My mom calls me the real life “Walter Mitty“, a show that came out before my time but, he dreamed of fantastic experiences and adventures in life. My mom feels that’s me… Not afraid to take on new challenges! Lol!

After being laid off from selling cars at the end of 2010, a friend recommended I get into the video business. I didn’t know what to do with that but, since I have a passion for entrepreneurship, I decided that I wanted to help other businesses have a video platform. We also ask people, “What do you do?” when you go networking so I figured that would be a good name for the show. Now don’t get it confused with the TV show, “What WOULD You Do?“. I didn’t start hearing about THAT show until mid 2011 or so.

Creating the show was fun. I’ve learned a lot and met a lot of great entrepreneurs throughout San Diego, CA. I also learned that in order to do all that I was doing, I needed a team and at that time I didn’t have one.

COMING SOON…

I have been saying that I want to restart the show in a webinar format but, procrastinated. Doing the show as a webinar is going to be much more fun and profitable for the businesses that we will showcase because the audience will be watching LIVE and able to purchase special deals that the business owners will offer.

Since having quite a few people asking when I will start the show again and getting request to feature certain people, I’m going to push for March time frame to get this going again. What do you think would be the best day and time to host the shows? Tell us.
